You're looking at First Canadian Commemorative Five Cent Coin (1751-1951). It's the first coin of its nature to Commemorative the isolation and naming of the element Nickel by the Swedish chemist and metallurgist Axel Fredrik Cronstedt (1722-1765).

COINS HISTORY

In early 1950 the Canadian Finance Minister invited Canadian artists and sculptors to submit the design for first Canadian commemorative five cent coin. Over 10,000 sketches and models were received by many participants. The board of judges approved the design submitted by Stephen Trenka and he's rewarded with a prize of $10,000.
